Overview

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Memorabilia and Design for Hard Rock International, the Vice President of Information Services – Globe Entertainment and Media Corp (VPIS) is a key member of the division’s leadership team.  The VPIS defines and executes the information systems strategy and develops the IT budget to support GEM’s business objectives.  This role oversees all enterprise platforms (including the ERP, Digital Asset Management system, and workflow tools), manages contract developers and IT staff, and drives innovation and digital transformation initiatives.  The VPIS works closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Creative, Archive, Operations) and collaborates with other Hard Rock divisions (e.g., Hard Rock Digital, HRX, Memorabilia) to deliver systems, processes, and data insights that empower the business.  In a high-growth environment, the VPIS will be instrumental in establishing the technology foundation, structure, and best practices from the ground up to enable GEM’s continued expansion.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute GEM’s IT strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Advise the leadership team on technology matters; contribute to business strategy and decision-making.
  • Create and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI.
  • Build and lead a skilled IT team, managing internal staff and external contractors.
  • Oversee IT governance and best practices in accordance with Hard Rock policies

Enterprise Systems & Platform Architecture

  • Lead architecture and maintenance of enterprise systems, including ERP, DAM, CRM, and workflow automation.
  • Ensure seamless integration across enterprise applications.
  • Select, implement, and manage software providers and contractors.
  • Manage software development efforts for customizations and integrations.

Digital Asset & Archive Management

  • Establish and oversee digitization, metadata management, and digital archiving of GEM’s media assets.
  • Ensure efficient digital asset retrieval and traceability, especially as it relates to rights management.
  • Translate product and sales strategy into scalable systems that make their vision a reality.

Infrastructure, Security & Compliance

  • Manage GEM’s IT infrastructure, including cloud operations and cybersecurity.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security standards, and regulatory obligations, as well as alignment with applicable Hard Rock Information Technology guidelines.
  • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Cross-Functional Support & Optimization

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Creative, Archive, and Operations teams to optimize workflows.
  • Provide tools and data-driven insights (dashboards, KPIs) to enhance productivity.
  • Drive adoption and effective use of enterprise technologies across the organization.

Innovation, R&D, and Automation

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by researching and piloting emerging technologies that could benefit GEM’s business (e.g., AI for image recognition, blockchain/NFT platforms for digital collectibles, process automation tools).
  • Collaborate with Hard Rock Digital, HRX, and Memorabilia divisions to share insights and adopt best practices, ensuring GEM’s technology initiatives complement the broader Hard Rock ecosystem while maintaining independent oversight of GEM’s IT operations.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and agility, positioning GEM to stay at the forefront of technology trends in entertainment and media.

Qualifications

 

  • 8+ years in progressive IT roles; minimum 5 years in senior IT leadership role
  • Proven track record in strategic IT planning and execution.
  • Hands-on expertise managing enterprise systems (ERP, DAM, CRM, etc.)
  • Ability to develop ad-hoc scripts and applications to resolve immediate needs.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen managing IT budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience leading digital transformation and implementing innovative technologies.
  • Familiarity with licensing, media, entertainment, digital archives is a strong plus.  Relevant certifications or continuing education are advantageous.
