Responsibilities

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the incumbent, whether personally or through subordinates, prepares and reviews financial statements and prepares extensive financial analysis of the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek's results and standards, budget and forecasted data. Performs account analysis and reconciliations.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepares journal entries to General Ledger.
  • Prepares bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares detailed account analysis.
  • Analyzes fluctuations in departmental results and variances from budgets.
  • Assists in developing and updating Balance Sheet reconciliations as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring the month end close is completed accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for producing accurate, timely reports and communicating financial results effectively with all levels of management.
  • Assists Financial Accounting Manager with maintenance of General Ledger system and reports.
  • Assists Financial Accounting Manager with maintenance of Fixed Asset accounting system.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required – must interact with all levels of Casino Management.
  • Responsible for training team members and ensuring policies and procedures are understood and all changes are communicated.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching and progressive discipline of team members as required.
  • Possess strong supervisory skills to oversee the General Ledger department.
  • Exhibits conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion and Dedication.
  • Ensures prompt and discreet notification to management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required as well as one (1) to three (3) years of similar accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 
  • Knowledge of hotel casino operations preferred. 
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
