Seminole Classic Casino pioneered Indian gaming when it opened as the country’s first large stakes bingo hall in 1979, eventually expanding with gaming machines and poker. Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the incumbent will provide direction and counseling to management and Team Member regarding employee relations issues and company policies and procedures.  Support for operating departments and overall Human Resources direction in the areas of Team Member Relations and Training disciplines.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide direction and counseling to management and Team Members regarding Team Member relations issues and company policies and procedures
  • Applies leadership, management and business skills to the training function
  • Coaches and counsels training staff to improve facilitation skills, training methodologies and personal development
  • Ensures learning objectives, strategies and outcomes are aligned with company’s business needs
  • Assists in development, coordination and implementation of Team member activities and recognition programs
  • Embrace the Company’s mission and values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect,
  • Accountability, Passion and Dedication and infuse them into department processes and practices
  • Lead a "go to" team ready to offer information and support to operating departments
    Partner with the HR department leader to set a "high-achievement" strategy and direction for HR; support the strategy with optimistic, achievable goals and objectives and a realistic budget
    Set standards, measures and feedback tools to monitor department progress
  • Uses performance analysis and needs assessments to identify areas for team member improvement. Conducts surveys, roundtables and other forums to analyze training needs
  • Prepares training guides and teaching outlines and determines instructional methods for group instruction, seminars and workshops
  • Property wide communication of GEM scores
  • Manage unemployment process
  • Manage tuition reimbursement
  • Manage compliance testing
  • Train peer hire program
  • Oversee learning and development and promote programs/processes/advancement in an innovative, entertaining, adult learning environment
  • Promote the brand identity in all communications, events and initiatives
    Coach, counsel, correct Team Members in a way that educates and leads to improved performance and behaviors; assist other managers as needed to coach, counsel and correct
    Implement multiple communication vehicles to reach varied audiences; include two-way communication opportunities to bond with Team Members, share ideas and best practices and keep your finger on the pulse of the people
  • Garner peer involvement in HR plans and win support for HR practices and initiatives
  • Celebrate successes and create rewards that resonate with Team Members at all levels
  • Design, plan and implement programs essential to worker morale and enthusiasm.
  • Be a stellar role model of personal and business ethics, be a gatekeeper of ethical practices and honorable behaviors throughout the organization. Take immediate action to report perceived ethics violations
  • Demonstrate a resounding commitment to responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service
    Ensure a safe, comfortable, friendly HR environment
  • Cultivate trusting, mutually supportive relationships with peers and direct reports as well as members of Tribal Government and Gaming Compliance and Regulations 

Qualifications

  • The incumbent must have a minimum of five (5) years Human Resource experience with a heavy emphasis on employee relations and training preferably in a casino environment. 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or Business Management is required.  Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. 
  • Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance. 
  • This individual must be trustworthy and caring. 
  • Must have the ability to listen, counsel and resolve problems. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Must have the ability to use and operate computer and software programs.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Proficiency with HR software required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Infinium.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment
  • Must be able to work late nights and weekends as needed

CLOSING:

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.

 

As part of Seminole Gaming’s employment process, final candidates will be required to obtain gaming licensure by completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations, prior to an offer being extended. These background checks may include, but are not limited to:
