JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for planning and implementing all Tampa’s marketing promotions and events.

 

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures
  • Execute sophisticated gaming tournaments, giveaways and other promotions
  • Ensure operational success of event and execution within gaming regulations
  • Management of special events & promotion’s team to deliver a high level of guest service, speed and integrity within all events and promotions
  • Plan, produce and maintain an on-going schedule of promotions
  • Work with Director to develop theme, format and rules for specific promotions and tournaments
  • Maintain promotions and events budget on a monthly and yearly basis
  • Develop proformas for new promotions, review the results of past promotions and events and make recommendations for the feasibility of repeating or modifying those promotions
  • Act as master of ceremonies as needed
  • Establishes reports and systems to monitor actual expenses compared to budget and take necessary action to meet budget guidelines.
  • Coordinate all set-up requirements and supplies needed for promotions and events
  • Communicate all events information to operating departments to ensure timely coordination of all promotions and events
  • Determine staffing needs and work schedules necessary to implement promotions and events
  • Works with the Director of Marketing to ensure public awareness of events
  • Develop contacts at area attractions to keep abreast of events in the market
  • Maintain awareness of changes in the marketplace that may impact the nature of promotions planned at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
  • Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, corrective counseling, etc
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations
  • Conduct personal behavior and select, train, coach, counsel, appraise and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion and Dedication
  • Demonstrate commitment to assisting in the development of Seminole Tribe members participating in the Tribal Career Development program and, when a Seminole Tribe member’s assignment falls within your direct area of responsibility, act as a personal mentor/career advisor to the Tribe Member and submit progress reports and information to the Director of Tribal Development
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations
  • Establishes an effective working relationship with all operating departments
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
  • Three (3) years of experience in casino promotions and/or special events required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word is required
  • Ability to deliver a service level that creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience
  • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals
  • Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and an outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance
  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be confident and professional in communication with team members and guests
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and guest service skills
  • Effective time management skills, along with the ability to forecast time management needs of others, are required
  • Must be detail-oriented

 

 

Work Environment:

    • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting, but there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

     

    Native American Preference Policy:

    The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.

     

    Employment Process:

    Seminole Gaming’s employment process requires candidates to obtain gaming licensure by successfully completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations, prior to beginning employment. These background checks may include, but are not limited to:

    • Credit Check
    • Criminal Background Check
    • Drug Screen
