Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing - Advertising & Public Relations is responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing plans and overall brand management of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. This position requires an in-depth understanding of the competitive environment, multi-channel communications, and best practices in the area of brand development, advertising, relationship marketing, consumer promotion and business analytics. This executive will lead the integration of traditional, digital advertising mediums, email, direct mail, social media, leisure and brand marketing to drive occupancy, gaming revenue, food & beverage revenue and ROI while also enhancing the brands image of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. A unique element of the role is the required interaction and brand alignment with Hard Rock International.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

May include but are not limited to:

  • Partners with the Vice President (VP) of Marketing to develop the annual marketing plan to achieve both short and long-term revenue and marketing objectives.
  • Provide overall strategic marketing direction for all elements of the Seminole Hard Rock campus including advertising, customer relationship marketing, direct/on-line/email marketing, social media, on property digital marketing, internet, promotions and sponsorship.
  • Manages and directs the activities of the Advertising, Social Media, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Entertainment Marketing and Multimedia Departments.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to advertising, marketing, social media and creative teams. Performs research, reporting and analysis to guide future planning.
  • Lead efforts with Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Entertainment, Vice President of Food & Beverage, Vice President of Hotel Operations and agencies to evaluate and optimize overall media mix / advertising spending and promotional calendar.
  • Manage relationships with agencies of record and align internal corporate resources for a cohesive marketing plan.
  • Work with revenue management team to develop offers, interpret occupancy statistics and respond to market conditions with campaigns that drive occupancy and ADR.
  • Manages the creation and display of all advertising, collateral material and in-house audio/video.
  • Oversee the development of social media calendars and digital advertising campaigns; analyses and leverages reporting tools that will provide meaningful insight and measurable results on campaigns.
  • Negotiates with print, radio and television and advertising agencies for appropriate advertising contracts.
  • Work with the Director of Database Marketing to develop optimum Hotel email marketing campaigns, help determine segmentation strategies and campaign frequency while also spearheading the development of new ideas that leverage our amenities, databases, brands and partnerships.
  • Develop and execute programs to support on-going needs, drive covers and launch new Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Assist all property departments in achieving department goals through cohesive and efficient marketing support.
  • Develop and support web marketing strategies and to guide enhancements to seminolehardrockhollywood.com to improve visual appeal, functionality and web performance metrics.
  • Identify and execute partnership opportunities that bring new customers / databases to the SHRH campus.
  • Oversee Corporate and Property sponsorship activations from development through execution.
  • Oversee all marketing/advertising budgets and accounting; including budget reviews and approval by management.
  • Monitors all advertising media and buys to assure compliance with advertising plans.
  • Provides the photographic needs of the department’s clients and provides the appropriate distribution of assets and brand standards.
  • Reviews and approves all media advertisement before release.
  • Drafts and implements departmental policies and procedures emphasizing long-term goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for publicity, media relations, interviews and articles related to the department.
  • Responsible for initiating, overseeing and receiving appropriate approvals for the property’s public relations programs to promote awareness of the property and increase trial.
  • Assist with the management of media and development of media initiatives and goals such as gaming, hospitality, spa, food and beverage, entertainment, retail and sports.
  • Handle high profile, high risk issues with finesse and determine appropriate course of action.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to public relations agencies and direct assignments as required to initiate writings, projects, campaigns, etc.
  • Conduct media interviews, professionally appear on-camera and on-air for radio.
  • Coordinate and execute media events including, but not limited to, red carpets, social media events, photo shoots for newsprint, live TV coverage and radio villages.
  • Serve as public relations manager for special events, festivals, celebrity appearances.
  • Conduct executive interviews for media and branding initiatives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with the media and community leaders.
  • Manage all media and broadcast production that is being executed on property.
  • Hire in house photographer and videographer for media related events.
  • Write, proofread and edit all Press Releases, news articles, advertorials, scripts and copy points.
  • Distribute press releases to media.
  • Oversee and handle all media creds and entertainment concerts in Hard Rock Live.
  • Attend and support various charity and sponsorship events within the community/ on property.
  • Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, counseling, etc.
  • Manages direct reports and monitors overarching marketing performance.
  • Interviews, selects and onboards property marketing associates.
  • Handles employee complaints and executes disciplinary action as needed.
  • Evaluates employee's productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.
  • Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Oversee compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.

Qualifications

Bachelors’ in Marketing or Advertising and seven (7) years experience in Advertising, PR, Casino Marketing or Communications required.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word and Access required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The working conditions are those typically found in an indoor, climate controlled office environment. Will be exposed to casino related factors including but not limited to second hand smoke, excessive noise, large crowds and stress related to servicing guests in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
