NATURE OF WORK
The incumbent in this position is responsible for initiating the background process and submitting other required documentation for all candidates offered employment by the various Seminole Gaming Departments. This position reports to the Background & Licensing Manager and is a non-exempt positon.

Responsibilities

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS

 Assists the Seminole Gaming Administration (SGA) in the scheduling and processing of applicants seeking licensing with the STGC.
 Collects all required documentation from the applicant as required by the Seminole Tribal Gaming Commission (STGC) and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC).
 Ensures the applicant completes all necessary paperwork required for the Background Investigations Department to complete a thorough and timely background investigation.
 Develops and maintains positive working relationships with all Seminole Gaming Administration areas as directed by the Background Investigations Department.
 Monitors and follows up on all missing documentation with the human resource department and advises the assigned background investigator accordingly, since it is time sensitive in order to complete the Background Investigation and issue the Tribal Gaming License/Work Permit.
 Remains apprised of current Seminole Tribal Gaming Commission (STGC) policies, procedures and requirements pertaining to the processing of candidates for employment, work related drug screening and badging.
 Administers appropriate drug test to the applicant, as required by the STGC. Collects saliva and/or urine specimen for test administration.

 Responsible for training of property commission officers in processing and collection of drug testing of new hires, for cause testing, and work related accident drug collection.
 Fingerprints applicants adhering to current FBI fingerprinting guidelines, applying the correct technique to ensure the highest quality fingerprints. Re-prints any rejections by the FBI in a timely manner.
 Issues Gaming Licenses, Work Permits and Temporary Badging for new and current employees, contractors, vendors and visitors as required by the individual property (casino).
 Adheres to all Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures. Adheres to the Rules and Regulations as set by the Seminole Tribal Gaming Commission and works within the guidelines of the Internal Control Standards (ICS).
 Performs additional related duties as assigned.

 Interest in the Seminole history, culture and organizational structure.
 General knowledge of requirements established by the Seminole Tribal Gaming Commission for issuance of a gaming license.
 General knowledge of the use and operation of general and task specific office equipment and systems.
 Ability to prepare reports and accurate documentation using computer-based applications.
 Ability to analyze issues objectively and promptly.
 Demonstrated time management skills.
 Demonstrate effective communication skills and excellent phone etiquette.
 Ability to deal with complex situations successfully.
 Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
 Ability to work independently.
 Ability to serve the Tribal community, the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. A minimum of two (2) years in a related field, or prior experience in an administrative or clerical capacity is required. Ability to meet standards established in order to obtain and maintain active the Employee Gaming License, is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook. Ability to meet standards for a Key License and thereafter to pass random drug testing is required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work. There will be occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items (e.g., books, papers, etc.). Driving a company vehicle may be required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a clean, air-conditioned office area, with little noise.
