Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino is our new resort that includes a casino with a total of nearly 38,000 square feet, including space for 640 slot machines and 18 tables for blackjack, craps, roulette, and other house-banked card games, along with high-stakes bingo action. Included in the totals are a smoke-free gaming space with 104 slot machines and a high-limit gaming area with 42 slot machines and four table games.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Financial Accounting Manager, the incumbent prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assists and supports Accounts Payable.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists and support Accounts Payable functions
• Perform monthly inventory and annual fixed asset inventory
• Prepares journal entries for review with proper support to Finance Manager.
• Prepares detailed account analysis
• Analyzes fluctuations in departmental results and variances from budgets
• Assists Financial Accounting Manager with maintenance of General Ledger and Accounts Payable system and reports
• Assists Financial Accounting Manager with maintenance of Fixed Asset accounting system
• Demonstrate actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values of communication, integrity, fun, respect, accountability, passion, and dedication
• Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times
• Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
• Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required as well as one (1) to three (3) years of similar accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Knowledge of casino operations preferred
• Must possess excellent communication and time management skills
• Must possess basic mathematical skills ability; add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Must be proficient in MS Office, Excel and Outlook
• Basic knowledge of MS Word is required
• Infinium or similar computer systems preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to: second hand smoke, excessive noise, and constant interaction with the general public.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 20 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy.

CLOSING:

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
