Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external guests.  Primary responsibilities include fry cook work and to assist other cooks, Sous Chef, Room Chef, Assistance Executive Chef, and the Executive Chef in the efficient operation of the kitchen and of assigned management.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

May include but are not limited to:

  • Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees. 
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, choppers, slicers, mixers and grinders, and fryers.
  • Assist with preparation of food.
  • Assists all stations and respective lines as necessary.
  • Ensures that items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition.
  • Ensures the proper storing of any foods, including those from a previous function.
  • Ensures the proper closing down of work stations.
  • Ensures cleanliness of working area; reports all equipment for safety failures, hazardous areas and accidents.
  • Ability to inspect and maintain all areas for which responsible.
  • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area.
  • Ability to lift, move and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to prepare stocks and soups.
  • Ability to prepare all varieties of fry cook foods.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • These skills and abilities are typically acquired through one to two years of experience.  Previous prep and fry cook experience required.  Completion of a Culinary Arts Degree or recognized apprenticeship experience preferred.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
