Overview

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Finance, the team member, either personally or through subordinates, will assist with financial reporting, forecasting, annual budget process, departmental analytics, purchasing/warehouse and POS maintenance, information systems support, financial modeling, ad-hoc analysis and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for property financial planning and forecasting including capital and operating budgets
  • Develop analytic tools and techniques to analyze the results of our operation in order to enhance financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and operational performance and communicate variations to the appropriate leadership as needed
  • Oversight and support for gaming and marketing analytics including preparation, evaluation and presentation of findings along with recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinate and support property labor analysis including preparation and interpretation of reports/models/tools to ensure labor optimization
  • Oversee cost control/cost accounting including preparation and review of recurring and ad-hoc analysis and monthly close responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the property and assist as needed with department leaders to do the same
  • Partner with department leaders to evaluate operations and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Recruit, hire, train and develop high performing analysts and lead them to effectively serve all aspects of our business
  • Ongoing coaching, counseling and monitoring the performance of the team and recognizing and rewarding appropriately
  • Create, refine and prioritize requests to effectively manage expectations and timelines
  • Identify business problems and follow through from inception to completion—gather data, analyze data, draw conclusions and make recommendations for change and/or continued improvement
  • Serve as the liaison with SGA/SHRSS to strengthen communication ensuring alignment and consistency in evaluating and executing initiatives
  • Foster a superior guest service culture
  • Keep abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility including market analytics and communicating pertinent information accordingly
  • Demonstrate strength in written and verbal communication succinctly summarizing concepts and adjusting the findings to the audience

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in the area of finance, business or accounting along with three to five years of experience in an analytical role involving finance, accounting, operations or database administration of which three years must be in a casino operation
  • Working knowledge of database administration and SQL preferred
  • Advanced degree and/or professional certification  preferred
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills with demonstrated success in analytic roles
  • Must possess ability to define problems, collect data, analyze and interpret the data and draw valid conclusions
  • Knowledge of business strategies and practices with understanding of how to utilize analytics to measure and refine those practices to improve performance
  • Must possess ability to write complex queries/spreadsheet applications, produce reports, interpret information and make recommendations accordingly for the business
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational, planning and scheduling skills
  • Must possess ability to write clearly and concisely, and effectively present information to all levels of management in written or verbal form
  • Must possess ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The working conditions found are those found in environmental factors typical in an indoor, climate controlled office environment.  Exposure to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to crowds, second hand smoke and excessive noise. 

EMPLOYMENT PREFERENCE:

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans.  First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements.  Second preference is given to other members of federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
