Overview

Job Summary: 

Under the direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor the incumbent functions as a working leader to coordinate the tasks, activities, supplies and equipment of the painters. #indeedcoco

Responsibilities

 

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
  • Must adhere to the Seminole Tribe's Policies and Procedures.
  • Prepares and applies paint and related coatings and wall coverings to interior and exterior surfaces of on and off-site locations.
  • Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, fingers or plastic to create special effects; simulates wood grain, marble, brick tile or other specialty effects.
  • Smoothens surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces for painting; prepares surfaces as appropriate and cost effective; fills voids with putty type filler; removes and replaces wall fixtures.
  • Selects premixed paints, color matches or mixes required portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
  • Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Maintains tools, equipment and supplies in good, clean, operating order.
  • Interacts with internal departments to coordinate work flow.
  • Promotes positive public / employee relations at all times.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or technical certificate required as well as a minimum of five (5) years of related experience with specialty coatings, Venetian plaster, wallpaper repairs and one (1) year of casino experience or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.

 

 

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
