Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Promotions, the incumbent is responsible for creating post event reporting and ad-hoc analysis as well as maintaining revenue predictive models for the marketing department within Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Hotel Casino & Hotel.   This position specializes in using data and technical skills to develop insightful reporting to help optimize casino marketing strategies and offers.  The ideal candidate is passionate about data analytics and providing reports and insights that will lead to actionable business decisions to positively impact casino revenue.

 

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes SQL to collect data from various databases in order to develop post forma reports and perform ad-hoc analysis on projects requested by management
  • Maintains predictive models using SAS enterprise guide and SQL.
  • Develops historical, current, and potential future trend analysis
  • Learn and retain casino mathematics equations and key performance indicators
  • Communicates financial and operational results to:   Managers, Directors, and Executive Team    
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting across multiple departments and properties within Seminole Gaming
  • Develops appropriate financial and operating metrics for use by management in decision making
  • Supports departmental goals and ensures performance measures are understood and achieved by managers
  • Takes lead on ad-hoc projects and provides support on projects as needed
  • If needed, develops and maintains advanced Excel tools such as VBA
  • Validates results in order to ensure reporting accuracy
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management
  • Supports the annual budgeting process
  • Supports business and financial planning, includes short and long term forecasting

Qualifications

Bachelor degree preferred in the area of Marketing, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or Business Management. One (1) year casino marketing experience and one (1) year experience performing comparable analytical functions also preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Additional Requirements:

 

  • Must be able and willing to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have 1 – 2 years of experience using Microsoft SQL 
  • Must have a high proficiency level with Microsoft Excel
  • SAS enterprise guide preferred, but not required
  • Forecasting experience preferred, but not required
  • VBA experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret employee business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Self-sufficient, requiring some limited supervision over job knowledge, expectations, and successful project completion
  • Highly personable, able to easily articulate information and build strong relationships across multiple internal departments and potentially multiple external properties
  • Must possess ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Must be very detail-oriented
  • Must possess the ability to define problems, collect/sort/manipulate large amounts of data from multiple sources, establish facts, test theories, and draw valid conclusions

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
