Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Under the direction of Restaurant Management, the Host/Hostess serves, welcomes and greets guests at restaurant, obtains information from guests and ushers guests to seats ensuring a positive guest experience.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Greets guest at entrance to restaurant in a positive manner.
  • Obtains basic information from guest such as name, number in party, and seating preferences.
  • Ushers guests to seat location at a pace that is comfortable to the guests.
  • Enters guest checks in the computer system, applies monies received and makes accurate change.
  • Maintains current knowledge of rules, regulations, policies and procedures including pre-check and cashiering procedures.
  • The host/hostess must maintain a strong communication with management and servers regarding guest information to ensure a positive and professional guest experience.
  • Conduct themselves in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with a minimum of 6 months experience in high volume food service required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills specific to position responsibilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and be able to work standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities, and must have ability to read and understand all Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures and to complete standard Seminole Tribe of Florida forms and reports required.
  • Assist other line employees with daily responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise, and constant exposure to general public.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced, often crowded and noisy.

 

CLOSING:

 

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.

 

As part of Seminole Gaming’s employment process, final candidates will be required to obtain gaming licensure by completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations, prior to an offer being extended. These background checks may include, but are not limited to:
