Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works under the direction of the Director of Information Technology
  • Plans and schedules work to meet assignments
  • Meets formally or informally with the manager or designated senior staff to discuss status, ask for assistance on intractable problems, and to review accomplishments
  • Assists the system administrator in providing third level support to enterprise
  • Assists the enterprise system, systems assurance, application development, and operations services in developing, implementing, and maintaining the technology infrastructure
  • Accepts complete technical responsibility for equipment and assigned technologies
  • Makes evaluations and recommendations
  • Assists in the analysis, design and development of new technology
  • Documents design, implementation and final configuration findings for both new and existing techniques and equipment
  • Analyzes problems, studies technical literature and existing technology
  • Escalates intractable problems to vendors and/or senior manager for resolution
  • Develops monitoring systems used to manage infrastructure
  • Maintains a current understanding of strategic product mix and vendor selections
  • Opens up problem reporting tickets and accurately uses all problem tracking software systems

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Must adhere to the Seminole Tribe's Policies and Procedures.
  • Must be able to use common hand tools and electronic test equipment to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues with computers, peripherals, and computer software
  • Must be able to work with members of the Technical Staff and Management in a fast-paced environment to identify, isolate and resolve hardware and software issues during testing.
  • Must maintain technical documentation for all systems.
  • Analyzes business needs and makes appropriate application software modifications.
  • Tests application software upgrades to ensure accuracy of changes. Proper SharePoint system maintenance, availability and performance.

Qualifications

  • Requires well developed written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be able to travel to remote sites as may be required in support of operations.
  • Must be fluent in the English language.
  • Must comply with internal controls.
  • Must exhibit well-developed verbal and written communications skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience is preferred.
  • Must have 5 – 7 years relevant application and/or IT operations experience.
  • Proven relevant experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience with high-availability design (failover systems and data replication).
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, team member is regularly required to stand, walk, and demonstrate high-mobility for a majority of the shift.
  • Will also regularly: speak and listen to internal and external customer directions or orders in an atmosphere of varying background noise; transit across surfaces that may alternate between carpeted and hard surfaces; walk through slippery surfaces and/or sloping floors or stairs; use hands to finger, handle or feel small objects such paper or cloth; and reach with hands and arms overhead and from side to side.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision and depth perception. Will often transit between brightly lit and dimly lit areas, including flashing lights and computer or TV screens.
  • Position requires bending, lifting and carrying supplies and equipment up to 20 pounds, will be required to use, push and pull wheeled hand-carts or other equipment weighing in excess of 100 lbs.
  • Will regularly bend, stoop, kneel, and twist at the waist. May occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids, pet or service animals, and strong odors.
  • Will regularly be exposed to tobacco and other second hand smoke.
  • May occasionally use de-escalation techniques to resolve customer conflict.
  • Will be required to assist in customer evacuation in case of emergency.

First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
