Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Banquet Manager, the incumbent serves the guests in accordance with the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino standards. Responsible for the prompt, accurate preparation and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at all banquet functions.  Proper collection of cash (when appropriate) for all beverages prepared.  Maintains bar area in a clean and orderly manner.

               

 

                        

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepares all beverages in accordance with standard specifications; uses a shot glass for all bottle-poured drinks.
  • Ensures that all guests are promptly and courteously served.
  • Maintains and verifies cash bank at the beginning of assigned shift (when appropriate) and maintains control of the cash bank throughout the shift.
  • Properly records all transactions as directed by the Banquet Manager.
  • Stocks and re-stocks the bar in accordance with the bar par and hotel standards. Ensures that an adequate supply of fresh fruit garnishes, napkins, juices, ice, etc.  are on hand for use during the shift.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the bar throughout the shift including continually wiping down the bottles and the bar, removing dirty glassware and dishes, etc.
  • Ensures that alcoholic beverages are not served to guests under the legal drinking age. If  doubtful of age, bartenders will politely ask for proof of individual’s age in the form of an appropriate I.D.  if still doubtful, the bartender will notify the Manager on duty.
  • Continually observes guests and keeps a careful watch for intoxicated or unruly patrons. The Manager on duty should be notified immediately of any potentially disruptive situations.  Bartenders will not serve those guests who appear to be intoxicated.
  • Picks up all bar set-ups from the store room or kitchen, such as shot glasses, pitchers, glasses, ice buckets, garnishes, napkins, etc.
  • Returns all extra liquor to the Food and Beverage office and assists the Banquet Manager in recording usage.
  • When appropriate, counts cash, places it in a deposit envelope, and returns it to the manager on duty.
  • Breaks down bar at end of function including returning clean glasses to the kitchen, wiping down bar, placing extra fruit and juices in the refrigerator, etc.
  • Must war appropriate uniform and maintain personal cleanliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of bartending experience preferred.  Must be of legal age for serving alcoholic beverage. Extensive knowledge of mixed drinks, beers and wines. 

 

 

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.

As part of Seminole Gaming’s employment process, final candidates will be required to obtain gaming licensure by completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations, prior to an offer being extended. These background checks may include, but are not limited to:
