JOB SUMMARY

This position is open to those individuals skilled in machine or appliance repair, or those with an electrical or computerized hardware background. This position is responsible for assisting the Slots Operations Division with service and repair support, minimizing downtime and maximizing guest satisfaction.  Under the direction of the Slot Technician Manager, applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test, repair and maintain the Slot machines and related gaming equipment.  Hiring or Promotion to Slot Technician II or Slot Technician III is dependent on experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Abide by all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and comply with all Company, Local, State, Federal and Tribal regulations relating to Health, Safety, and Operations.
  • Successfully participate in and complete all training sessions, safety classes, pre-shift meetings, and/or certifications related to the position.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, modifications and relocation of slot machines and peripheral devices.
  • Coordinates with the Slot operations staff to ensure maximum operating efficiency while promoting the company’s goals and values.
  • Ensures all slot machines on the casino floor are operating according to company standards.
  • Rebuilds parts/equipment during down times, and maintains the parts inventory as assigned.
  • Prioritize workloads to meet business demands.
  • Circulates through the assigned area performing repairs as necessary.
  • Ensures that all slot/storage areas are cleaned and organized.
  • Responsible for the initial set up and testing of all new slot products.
  • Completes all regulatory/operational documents thoroughly and legibly.
  • May assist in the training of subordinates and the development of new methods and techniques for training manuals.
  • Maintains the integrity of the slot machine equipment and secure all company assets and property at all times.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate managers of concerns and observations.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to managers and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Promote positive public/team member relations at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for a Slot Machine Technician I position.  Hire or Promotion to a Slot Machine Technician II or higher requires a higher skill set.

 

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required with mechanical/ electronic aptitude preferred.
  • Install, service, and repair electronic and mechanical slot machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Disassemble entertainment equipment and repair or replace loose, worn, or defective components and wiring, using hand tools.  Must have strong foundational knowledge of low voltage wiring.
  • Calibrate and test equipment, and locate circuit and component faults, using hand and power tools and measuring and testing instruments such as resistance meters and oscilloscopes.  Must demonstrate proper lock-out/tag-out procedures with power isolation. 
  • Confer with internal and external customers to determine the nature of problems or to explain repairs.
  • Tune or adjust equipment and instruments to obtain optimum visual or auditory reception, according to specifications, manuals, and drawings.
  • Knowledge of Database and Internet communication technologies helpful.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; will be required to write reports.
  • Ability to successfully interface with all levels of the organization while using collaboration and flexibility when managing multiple assignments.
  • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to work in a very fast paced environment while adhering to strict guidelines and controls.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, team member is regularly required to stand for a majority of the shift. May also regularly speak and listen to internal and external customers, transit across carpeted and hard surfaces, use hands to finger, handle or feel small objects such as wires or harnesses.  Will regularly reach with hands and arms overhead or inside machinery.
  • On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision and depth perception. Incumbent will be constantly exposed to flashing and repetitive lights and sounds.
  • Position requires bending, lifting and carrying supplies and equipment up to 70 pounds, may be required to use hand-carts or other equipment.
  • Will regularly bend, stoop, kneel, and twist at the waist, work overhead or from heights.
