The Director of Public Relations is responsible for developing and executing Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood’s public relations programs that promote awareness and attract a quality clientele to the casino resort. The Director of Public Relation will manage project development and implementation, facilitate media interaction, proactively develop pitches and cultivate relationships with media, partners and local community influencers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain media relationships (locally, regionally, nationally and internationally) to result in editorial coverage for Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood.
  • Proactively pitch property amenities to include writing of pitches, development of trend ideas, journalist interaction, facilitation of property visits and evaluation of incoming requests for merit, including making recommendations on participation and coordination of all details.
  • Manages all media relations related to hotel, food & beverage, security, entertainment, celebrity and nightlife.
  • Strong local media contacts including national, regional and local.
  • Writing interesting and effective press releases which generate media coverage.
  • Manage relationships with agencies of record and align internal corporate resources for a cohesive plan and ensure all deliverables are met timely and accurately
  • Coordination with property executive team including working closely with the Vice President of Marketing, Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Hotel Operations and Security.
  • Planning and attending all on and off property press events including red carpets, grand openings, player events, concerts, celebrity appearances, nightlife opportunities, etc.
  • Develop strategic public relations plans, media events and announcements related to property-specific initiatives and objectives.
  • Attend and support various charity and sponsorship events within the community/ on property
  • Conduct media interviews, professionally appear on-camera and on-air for radio.
  • Manage on-site filming of television shows, feature films, news programs, photo shoots, media familiarization trips, executive interviews and radio remotes.
  • Hire in house photographer and videographer for media related events.
  • Draft and distribute press releases; media follow up calls to garner coverage. Develop talking points and interview preparation.
  • Attend regularly scheduled property meetings with marketing and operations teams to determine relevant content for media outreach and develop strategy for programming.
  • Be proficient in the preparation and monitoring of annual budget, monthly budget justification and monthly/quarterly projections.
  • Manage managers and coordinators, overseeing workloads, setting priorities and responding to personnel issues.
  • Manages Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment.
  • Oversee internal project teams and directing outside agencies to execute on PR strategies/projects.
  • Performs other job related duties as requested.


Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent education and experience.


  • At least 10 years of leadership experience within Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field.
  • Strong organization skills a must. Detail-oriented and multi-task during high-stress situations.
  • Able to meet short-notice deadlines.
  • Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and passion for media relations practice and social media strategy.
  • Able to manage high impact and critical communications situations.
  • Strong working knowledge of local, regional and national media industry.
  • Demonstrated professional, effective writing skills and polished verbal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
